Kentucky coach John Calipari will host a telethon today to raise money for Haitian earthquake relief efforts. “Hoops for Haiti” will be broadcast on Lexington’s WKYT and on the Web via CoachCal.com and UKAthletics.com, starting at noon Eastern.
The show will include several high-profile names from the world of college hoops, including coaches Jim Boeheim, Tom Izzo, Rick Barnes and Mark Few. Calipari’s players will man the phone banks to take donations, and a group of local businessmen has pledged to match all contributions.
