Carmelo Anthony has told Denver management he will not sign a contract extension unless he’s traded to the Knicks, ESPN’s Chris Sheridan reports.
Anthony will be a free-agent after this season. The Nuggets hoped to sign their leading scorer to an extension, despite long-standing rumors that he preferred to join a team on the East Coast. Anthony’s new wife — television personality LaLa Vazquez — is from Brooklyn, New York. Anthony was born there but moved to Baltimore as a child.
