Derek Fisher scored 11 of his 16 points in the fourth quarter and played excellent defense throughout, as the Lakers beat the Celtics, 91-84 to take a 2-1 NBA Finals series lead.
Just one game after setting a new Finals record for three-pointers made, Ray Allen failed to connect from long range. Allen shot a horrid 0-13 from three — one miss shy of the Finals record for three-point futility. Fisher was at least partially responsible for Allen’s off night, as the Laker veteran spent the game chasing Allen through screens.
Kobe Bryant had 29 points to lead all scorers, but shot poorly (10-29 from the field). But Lamar Odom provided an important spark off the bench, scoring 12 points on 5-5 shooting.
Kevin Garnett — relatively quiet in games one and two — led the Celtics with 25 points.
The series continues in Boston on Thursday night at 9pm ET.
