Granger’s Heroics Sink Knicks in Indy

Mike D’Antoni’s Knicks can score with anyone, but if they aren’t going to make key stops, they’ll have to endure disappointing losses like Tuesday’s against the Pacers. Danny Granger’s 17-footer with under a second remaining sent the Knicks to their third straight loss.

There was plenty of drama in the game’s final minute. With 41 seconds remaining in the game, the Knicks took a 115-114 lead on a Toney Douglas three-pointer. But on the ensuing possession, Darren Collison shook loose from Chauncey Billups to hit a 16-footer, giving Indiana a one-point edge. Then Paul George picked Billups’s pocket and drew a foul. The rookie hit one of two free throws, stretching the Pacers lead to 116-114. A Carmelo Anthony baseline drive tied the game at 116 with seven seconds remaining, setting the stage for Granger’s heroics.
