SI.com compiled a list of the 32 Greatest Sports Calls ever. Some of basketball’s most popular voices made the list, including:

  • CBS’ Verne Lundquist calling the 1992 Duke/Kentucky regional final (a.k.a. the Christian Laettner game, a.k.a. the “Why didn’t Pitino have somone guard the inbound passer” game)
  • Gus Johnson’s “The Slipper Still Fits” during Gonzaga’s 1999 win over Florida
  • Marv Albert and Bob Costas calling two of Michael Jordan’s most memorable NBA Finals moments
  • Celtics legend Johnny Most calling famous steals by Dennis Johnson and Larry Bird
