Proving he’s got more lives than the average horror-movie bad guy, Thomas was re-hired by the Knicks in a consulting role. We’re not clear what sort of advice he’ll offer… after all, this is the man who gave big-money contracts to the likes of Eddy Curry and Jerome James, made ill-advised trades to acquire Stephon Marbury, Jared Jeffries and Steve Francis, drafted Renaldo Balkman over Rajon Rondo, and cost Madison Square Garden millions in a sexual harassment lawsuit. Now he’s going to be paid to advise Donnie Walsh — who just spent the last two years cleaning up the mess Thomas left at 33rd and 7th.
