A new suitor in the Tracy McGrady sweepstakes emerged last night, with the Rockets reaching an agreement in principle to send T-Mac, Carl Landry and Joey Dorsey to Sacramento. Kevin Martin, Kenny Thomas, Sergio Rodriguez and Hilton Armstrong would go to Houston in the deal.
The deal could still be expanded to include the Knicks. In that scenario, McGrady and Rodriguez would end up in New York while Jared Jeffries others land… somewhere.
If the Kings are unable to bring the Knicks into the deal, it’s likely McGrady will get a buyout and be free to sign with any team. His preference, unsurprisingly, is to end up with the Cavs or Lakers, but it’s no sure thing that either team would be interested.
