Knicks’ All-Star Drought Continues

by Charlie on January 29, 2010

David Lee was snubbed by the Eastern Conference coaches, and won’t be one of the all-star reserves, the New York Daily News is reporting. Seven all-star reserves for each conference — two guards, two forwards, one center and two “wild cards” — will be announced on TNT tonight.

The Knicks haven’t had a player on the all-star team since both Allan Houston and Latrell Sprewell were honored in 2001.

Lee’s loss could be Al Horford’s gain; Atlanta’s pivot is generally considered Lee’s biggest competition for the spot. Of course, it’s also possible that the coaches opted to send Shaquille O’Neal to Dallas.

Other leaks are reporting that Memphis forward Zach Randolph and Pau Gasol of the Lakers will get good news this evening.
