The Missouri’s frenetic defense forced 20 turnovers, grabbed 15 steals and generally frustrated seven seed Clemson on the way to a 86-78 win. Mizzou held Clemson star Trevor Booker to just 11 points – well off his 15.2 ppg average – with most of those coming in a three-minute span late in the game.
The first-round loss was the third straight for Clemson; coach Oliver Purnell’s NCAA Tournament record now stands at 0-6.
