The Nets’ started the second half with a rare win, beating the Charlotte Bobcats 103-94 in Charlotte last night.
The ‘W’ was just their fifth of the season — and second over Larry Brown’s Bobcats. New Jersey beat Charlotte back on December 5th to end their NBA-record 18-game losing streak to start the season. They’re now 2-1 against Charlotte — and 3-47 against the rest of the league.
Courtney Lee had 21 points to lead the Nets. Devin Harris had 17 and nine assists.
Chasing the Sixers
After last night’s victory, the Nets’ record stands at 5-48 on the season — a winning percentage of 0.094. Project that out over 82 games, and you’re looking at 7.7 wins on the year. Even rounding up to eight wins (even the Nets have yet to find a way to win seven-tenths of a game), that would surpass the 1973 Philadelphia 76ers’ mark for worst record in NBA history (9-73).
