Obama’s Obrackets

by Charlie on March 19, 2009

President Obama’s pick of North Carolina to win the NCAA Tournament didn’t impress Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski, who told reporters:

Somebody said that we’re not in President Obama’s Final Four, and as much as I respect what he’s doing, really, the economy is something that he should focus on, probably more than the brackets.

I can see both sides… the president is a basketball fan, and indulging in a little March Madness is a fairly harmless exercise that helps him connect with his constituents. On the other hand, he does have some fairly urgent issues on his plate right now — perhaps the elaborate video hookup and SportsCenter feature could have been replaced with a simple press release.

What’s your take?
