I would not wish the week Allen Iverson has had on my worst enemy.
On Tuesday, the Philadelphia 76ers announced Iverson will not return to the team this season. Iverson left the team before the all-star break to deal with a family matter — an unspecified illness affecting his four-year-old daughter.
On Thursday, Iverson’s wife of eight years filed for divorce and full custody of their five children — ranging in age from 15 years to 17 months.
In the background of this personal meltdown is a professional one. Iverson has now left two different NBA teams hanging this season, and the rumor is, he won’t get a third chance. It seems likely that his NBA career is effectively over.
