The Texas Longhorns’ collapse is complete. An Ishmael Smith jumper with 1.3 seconds remaining in overtime lifted Wake Forest into the second round and ended a frustrating season for Rick Barnes’ team.
The Longhorns were ranked number one in the nation in January, but faded badly down the stretch. Last night’s game resembled their season; they held a commanding eight-point lead in overtime, but blew it in the final minutes before falling, 81-80.
Wake’s Al-Farouq Aminu flashed the skill could make him an NBA lottery pick, scoring 20 points and grabbing 15 rebounds. J’Covan Brown scored 20 for Texas.

I’m glad it’s over. There’s nothing worse than trying to support an erratic team….like Texas was this year. Let’s hope their football team will play with a lot more consistency.
