Worst Starts in NBA History

A brutal start to the 2009-10 season cost Nets coach Lawrence Frank his job, and may land New Jersey one of the NBA’ most ignominious records: worst start in NBA history.

A 106-87 loss to the Los Angeles Lakers on Sunday, November 28th put the Nets at 0-17 on the season, and in a three-way tie atop the futility record book. Here’s a look at the slowest starters in NBA history.

The Nets will set a new mark for futility if they can’t beat ex-Net Jason Kidd and the Dallas Mavericks at the Izod Center on December 2.
